Can you see who viewed your Instagram profile? What Instagram actually shows
It's one of the most searched Instagram questions, and the answer is short: no. Instagram has no feature that lists who looked at your profile, and it doesn't tell anyone that you looked at theirs. What you can see depends on what someone viewed.
Short answer: you can't see who viewed your profile or your posts. You can see who viewed your stories and who watched your live videos. Professional accounts see how many profile visits they got in Insights, but not who. Apps that promise a list of profile viewers can't get that data from Instagram.

The same rules apply the other way round: looking at someone's profile or posts is anonymous, but viewing their story puts you on their viewer list. Instagram explains the story part in its Help Center article who can tell that you've seen their story.
Profile visits in Insights
If you switch to a professional (creator or business) account, Insights shows how often your profile was visited and which posts led people there. These are numbers only; there is no list of names. Switching is free and can be undone.
Why "profile viewer" apps don't work
Apps and websites that promise "see who viewed your profile" have no source for that information: Instagram doesn't record profile views in a way it shares with anyone, including with third-party apps. What these apps usually show instead are guesses, for example the accounts that like or view your content most, labelled as "viewers".
Many of them also ask for your Instagram login. That gives the app access to your account for a feature it can't deliver. Be especially careful with any site that asks for your password to "unlock" viewers: that's a classic phishing pattern.
